As a school leaver Darrell started his career working in local government finance, where he obtained his accounting technician qualification. In 2000 he then moved into a private practice specializing in tax and was then trained by an ex district tax inspector whilst achieving his tax technician qualification. He worked up to director level then moved on to a larger practice managing the tax department and dealing with small traders up to multinational group companies, looking after an extensive portfolio.
Darrell has experience in working with small to medium sized businesses, offering advice and assistance in the preparation of accounts and tax returns for companies, sole traders and partnerships.
He is regularly called upon to advise on tax planning opportunities, including Capital Gains Tax and Inheritance Tax. Away from his tax specialism, Darrell acts as a volunteer advisor to the charity TOPS, (taxhelp for older people), and having 3 boys he is also heavily involved in the management of junior football teams.
